Have you ever considered the emotional impact of a critical illness?

If you were to survive a critical illness, could you afford to lose your retirement savings?

Critical illness insurance provides flexibility in plan design and can be tailored to fit your individual needs. In addition, it may provide you with a one-time, lump-sum payment as well as medical and emotional support at a critical time in your life. You can use the money any way you wish – leaving your retirement savings untouched!

What if you had expenses resulting from a significant change in health and needed to withdraw from your funds while their account value was down?

Even in good times, withdrawing from investments before intended can be damaging to long-term financial goals.

Are you Prepared to Survive?

Your odds of suffering a critical illness during your working career significantly outnumber your odds of dying.
  • A female has a 1 in 5 chance of becoming critically ill during her working career, which is more than double that of dying.
  • A male has a 1 in 4 chance of becoming critically ill during his working career, which is 55% higher than his chances of dying.1

Chances are you’ll recover from a critical illness, but chances are your retirement plan won’t.

How much do you require?

Critical illness insurance allows you to focus on your recovery instead of finances.

The face of a critical illness has many sides. We often only think about the financial and medical aspects, but what about the emotional impact that can affect the entire family?

If you are insured under an Oasis policy and diagnosed with a critical illness or condition named in the policy, you are eligible for support from WarrenShepell. For up to one year after diagnosis, your clients and their primary caregiver will have access to:

Professional counselling services

Confidential support and assistance from skilled counsellors to assist with personal or emotional issues. Includes up to 12 sessions for your clients and their immediate family.

Child and elder care resources

Community resource referrals for any child care, elder care or parenting concerns your clients may face when dealing with a critical illness.

Legal and financial consultation

Professional financial advice to help with day-to-day budgeting given possible changes in employment or financial situation, as well as general legal consultation.

Registered dieticians and nurses

Information from registered dieticians to help answer questions about dietary changes that may be required as a result of the critical condition, and from nurses to provide general health
management information.

Online information library

A convenient reference source for personal, family and healthy lifestyle information from a website loaded with resources, fact sheets, articles and links to information that may be of help to your clients and their family.

Homecare resources

Homecare referrals are available if your clients require post-operative care or help with general home care services.
